Sharon – 11+ & SATs Tutor

Team Member - Sharon

Sharon is one of our Primary phase tutors, specialising in 11+ and SATs, as well as being qualified to teach GCSE English Language. She has taught across the education sector for over 12 years, most recently holding the position of Assistant Headteacher. Sharon has a degree in Law and a Post Graduate Certificate in Education (PGCE).
When asked why Sharon wanted to teach, this is what she had to say, “Teaching is my passion and every student that enters my class is my motivation. I want to ensure that every student reaches their full potential and enjoys the process of learning. Inclusivity, support and challenge are at the heart of my teaching and lessons are planned with each individual learning style taken into account. Students will flourish and grow, both academically and personally, when presented with opportunities and challenges that are tailored to their needs. I take great pride in the success of students, whether it is for academic progress or gaining confidence to tackle tricky maths problems. This is why I love what I do. I am in the privileged position of having played some part in the successful development of each student that I teach.”
Sharon’s hobbies revolve around keeping fit. She regularly attends the gym, but her passion is running. She has taken part in a number of 10k runs and has raised money for a range of charities through sponsorships.

Nafeesa – 11+ & SATs Tutor

Nafeesa is our Lead Tutor for the 11+ and SATs programme. She has been teaching in primary schools for 8 years and has been part of the team at Primus Education for just over three years. She has a degree in International Relations & Politics and a PGCE in Primary Education.

When asked why Nafeesa wanted to teach, this is what she had to say: “I am a Primary School Teacher, who is passionate about helping children to achieve their potential. I am particularly passionate about growth mindset, which I try to apply to my own life. My ambition is to help children apply a growth mindset in their lives, personal and academic, enabling them to become young independent learners. Ultimately, my goal is to help society by shaping the coming generations.”

Nafeesa enjoys hiking and reading a variety of books, which she also advocates with her students.

Ped – GCSE Maths Tutor

Ped is a part of our GCSE Maths team and has also been an examiner for AQA. Through his extensive teaching and leadership experience, he has helped many of our students achieve incredible results. He has a degree in Mathematics as well as a PGCE.

When asked why Ped wanted to teach, this is what he had to say: “My passion to teach comes from helping others achieve the qualifications they require to chase their dream professions. I find it incredibly motivating, helping students achieve their target grades or better.”

Ped likes action movies and listening to hip hop music. He also partakes in several sports, including boxing. Although he does not cook much himself, Ped does love to eat.

Kaleem – GCSE Science Tutor

Kaleem - GCSE Science Tutor

Kaleem is a part of our GCSE Science team and is also an Examiner for AQA and Pearson. He has accumulated extensive teaching and leadership experience in his career, including posts such as Head of Chemistry and Assistant Head of Department. Kaleem has a degree in Chemistry from the University of Birmingham, PGCE from the University of Manchester and Leading form the Middle professional qualification.

When asked why Kaleem wanted to teach, this is what he had to say: “This year will be my 20th year in teaching and education. I have worked in various school settings teaching GCSE in Chemistry, Biology, Physics and Combined Science. I also teach KS3 Science and A-Level Chemistry. Working in education always brings new challenges each year and has allowed me to develop both personally and professionally. My drive has always been to engage youngsters in Science and for them to enjoy the subject as well as reach their potential in formal exams. Science is an ever-evolving subject and always brings great curiosity for both staff and student. Teaching allows me to see these interactions on a regular basis. Helping students progress and achieve their potential has always been immensely rewarding.”

Kaleem is an avid follower of football and cricket and is a season ticket holder for Manchester United Football Club and Lancashire Cricket Club.

Sara– GCSE Science Tutor

Sara is part of our GCSE Science team and is an Examiner for AQA. She has accumulated extensive teaching and leadership experience in her career, including posts such as Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths (STEM) lead. Sara has a degree in Secondary Education in Science from Lancaster University.

When asked why Sara wanted to teach, this is what she had to say: “I have always wanted to make a difference in the lives of young people and I feel teaching allows me to do exactly that. Working with pupils at Primus has enabled them to achieve excellence in their GCSE, unlocking a whole range of opportunities in further education.”
Sara enjoys swimming and going to the cinema. She is also a foodie and will regularly advise the team on some of the best places to try out around Manchester.
